Each one of us is unique in their own way, and so is the different types of writing. The rules of writing a captivating script that gets turned into an award-winning movie, are different from producing a best-seller novel.
The devil isn’t just in the details but the format, too. Without it, then, you may consider your efforts a waste of everybody’s time. Also, keep your script short.
A single page accounts for one minute of screen time. Your aim as a scriptwriter should be to entertain the audience. Even if, it’s keeping people, at the edge of their seats; from one scene to another.
Keep the audience glued with a story. Well, we wouldn’t continue watching without something to look forward to, would we? Don’t forget to engage the reader too, as you write.
Also, as with all types of writing; you better stay away from clichés. They may not be as appealing as they seem.
